I have ordered the 2.6 but forgot to get a 1.6 rebuild kit, and have checked and it will cost me $5 plus postage.
How hard is it to do the lpc rebuild without one, and do the 4 wires come with it or not? If not, what do i use?

If you ordered from a good retailer you should find that the rebuild kit comes included with the chip!

Yeah i found out that they do come with it. Just confusing having it as an optional extra for $5

They are probably the thinnest PCB boards you'll ever see. If you go mucking around with it to much it is possible to over flex it and snap a trace on the board. I've seen this occur.

I just installed two tonight, and I've gotta say the little bugger is one nice unit! I installed an old version 2.6 about a year ago and had to do the LPC rebuild myself. (if you ever need to do this use something small for the wire. 30ga will work fine.) PITA, but my soldering skills are up for it. Never having worked with the rebuild PCB I wasn't sure what to expect this evening. Wow, piece o cake. The first one went in perfectly and the second one was even easier. Big thumbs up to Team Xecuter for making this part! Smart design like this is one of the reasons I stick to their chips.
