Hey all,
Just a quick question before i get started on installing the chip, i am doing a pin header install, Using the guide for the X3 installation (read in a sticky post it is the same as an X2.6 install)
My question is this, using the D0/HDD/LAN cable do I need to solder the HDD LAN wires, I know I must do the D0, but just wanted to confirm if I have to use the HDD and LAN wires

If you havent guess this is my first attempt at a mod chip ;)

Thanks a bunch

P.S. the guide I am using

If you do leave the LAN/HDD wires unsoldered be sure you insulate them so that they don't accidently short out on anything. They are completely optional, but the points to solder to are a heck of a lot easier than the D0 point. Take a look at your motherboard once it is out of the box and upside down, you'll see what I mean.

Since you'll solder the D0 anyway, take time to solder the LAN/HDD as well...like Big_Whoopin said before, it's way too easy soldering the LAN/HDD point compared to D0.
I did a pinheader install with my v1.0 and I must admit it's a pain in A$$ removing the solder in the LPC but it's worth. I used soldering braid & paste to remove the solder (not to mention a lot of patience!)but be very careful not to apply too much heat to the LPC otherwise you'll burn your motherboard. If you're not so sure with your soldering skill then take Crackerjack's advice co'z that's really easy...
