2.6CE !SOLDERLESS!

hello. I'm a newbie and i just got my chip (2.6CE solderless) in the post. I cannot find anywhere a tutorial wiht pictures on how to install this chip solderlessly. I have heard you do not even have to take the motherboard out but i just dont really know. If anyone knows of any tutorials it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

ok finally got the chip installed correctly but now i am getting what i think is frag. my xbox turns on then off then on the off then on but the last time it comes on the power button flashes red and green. Is there soemthing wrong?

Yes there is something wrong. What happens with the chip off? You said you have a 1.0, did you clean the LPC area with a stiff eraser or a q-tip with a little bit of nail polish remover? Chances are the contact points are a little dirty.

Hi, check the do connection wire, if it has not connected properly that will give you a frag!

Hey guy thanks heaps for the help. Fioxed it really it just needed some good old fashioned fiddling n stuff pushing down harder on the pins n a lil clean like you said. Thanks heaps. Ok im just going to make myself sound like a complete idiot here but thats what i am anyway! I have booted up using the chip and this is what i get http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/ ...well i get the screen where it says everything should be ok if this comes up. Now do i have to download some sort of 'os' kinda thing to make my chip work? oh man i sound stupid...but yeh it says i could load bios from hd but im thinking ive gotta download like kinda an os thing then burn it to a cd and run that in my xbox?! Shame it couldnt just come with all this hey.

You have to download a hacked bios. You can get it from Xbins. To learn how to use xbins, go here. You will also need a dashboard, this is the "OS" you speak of. Your best bet would be to get Slayer's. Info on that can also be found in Xbins.

i just modded my xbox with xecuter2.6 and had probs but now when I turn on the box it says "excuter2 config live loading...." then goes to the xecuter screen (rox my box) then boot to the M$ screen and will not read my copies what do I do now? Please help

I cant Insall anythig on hdd cuz I cant ftp, or put a non xbox disc in drive cuz it says its not reconized what am I doing wrong?

Do you know if the discs you are burning are readable at all to your xbox? The DVD drives can be picky about media, burn methods, etc. Do you know anyone else with a modded box that could try your discs?

You're getting the X2CL boot screen and then loading the MS dash, so your chip install and BIOS flash look good. Just looks like a media problem to me.

How are you copying the games if you can't ftp from your box to pc. You need to set up a ftp connection from your pc to xbox with a crossover cable, use qwix 1.01 to ftp. Install evox to your xbox hard drive and use dvd3xbox to copy a game to your hard drive, once thats done use qwix to create an iso image and point it to the game folder on your hard drive, click create, go for a smoke, come back and then burn the iso image to good dvd media with dvd decrypter at slowest possible speed. Job done m8.
