Hi all (this is my first post but have been reading the forums for a while) i have a 2.6ce with a 1.6b crystal and was given the mod chip from a friend which is missing the switch bank so i cant check it with my programmer ( i keep getting the dreaded 0x1010 )
what i was hoping to get was the pinout for the 8 pin plug that goes to the switchbank.

i dont expect it all on a plate as i have trawled the net and have managed to get the chip to power up by tracing and shorting out pin 3 and 4 giving me the blue power on led,i dont care about the leds as i only want to get the board working until the xenium becomes avalible on the net in the new year.

if it wernt the holliday season i would buy one as they are dirt cheap but it will take ages for the post to get back to normal and by then i hope to get a new chip and lcd front for my xbox.

anyway heres a pic of the board with the pin out so far if anyone can help i would be most greatful... cheers and a happy new year to all the mods and members...baz

Update

well i had a couple of hours with the programmer and 2.6ce and read all of your posts(which i found very useful m8)

i connected the mod chip to my programmer and used the usb/printer connections,i had pins 5 and 6 shorted already so the chip powered up ok (blue led on chip comes on ok and got the three leds on the programmer to come on too.

i connected a 4 pin lead (from a spider programmed kit) to pins 1,2,3 and 4 ,so far so good.

i tried all ways to get x2bm and iXia to connect but all ways failed,i tried connecting the main earth (pin4) to pin 1 (bank 1 & 2) pin 2 (enable mod) pin 3 (flash protect),i tried combinations too pins 1+2,1+2+3 ,2+3,anyway i read on here you need the chip disabled with flash protection off i tried that too on bank 1 and 2.

the results were changing between 0x0000 to 0x1010 (x2pro/auto) all other modes i set were 0xffff(wrong lpt port) and 0x0B22 (on x2lite)
i will wait untill the switch bank comes in the post and try again on both computers.

conclusion i was given the chip from a mate so there is the posibllity that it may be faulty.

cheers again.....baz
