Be advised I have read many tutorials and visited various sites to submit the information I am about to present. As you can see the topic at hand (refer to the title). I hot swapped the mod chip flashed the bios EVOX v16 plus w/ 3.0.3. I noticed that sometimes 3.0.3 doesn't work on some 1.6's and that it has to be on bank 2. I will be going home shortly to test this out. I have verified the integrity of the solder points. I do get the FRAG when the chip is enable. When I disable the chip I get error 16 please contact repair center. On Llama's website there is an interpretation of these error messages and mine is a Dashboard error. I would like to mention a second possibility, that is I have changed the hard drive (I will check this as well). After I hot swapped the mod chip I went back to the XBOX that I hot swapper with and I put everything back togethor and now I get the same FRAG and error 16 on the chip unabled setting. I do; however, get the blue bios screen (this xbox is a japanese v 1.0). I would like to mention that on my signature I do also have a solderless 1.1 version as well (for trouble shooting options). A third thing I will check is the bios flashing. Most every where I have read the bios is referred to 2MB; howver the 2.6CE is only a 1MB chip. I read there are two ways to flash the bios and that is 1) use the cmd prompt and save to the c:/ bios+bios+bios+bios and make a CD using the tut on Xecuter 2) Usgin Bios manager and filling the slots like that however; I don't have an external prorgammer. So how will I get the chip to commincate to the PC (would it be to use a crossover cable even with the blue screen while having hot swapped again to the other XBOX and flshing like that?). Set me straight and I can help myself and others. Please advise. I have 4 hours to make some magic happen as this is not my XBOX. I did tell my friend it was my 2nd time doing this. Is this a journey to the store to "hot swap" there as well?
