2 DVD drives? A smart solution, or waste of money?

So I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a second FREE dvd drive for my XBOX 360. I didn't need it, but it was free. So I got to thinking, with MS banning people off LIVE perhaps I can used my flashed Hitachi drive for all the back ups I got, and an unflashed Samsung drive for LIVE... it really isn't that much work to swap... especially since I got my housing in quick release mode. Your thoughts?

it wont make a difference if you get banned and swap the drives as its not the drives that get banned its the console itself!

well aslong as your unplugged from the internet when using the flashed drive you should be fine.

Exactly... I would only 'connect online' with the non flashed drive. I haven't used Live yet, so my 'console' is still o.k.

Is it as simple as a quick swap of drives, and my 360 will be o.k. with either. Meaning my original Hitachi drive can be replaced with a Samsung drive without doing anything... and it'll work fine?
