2 new liteon drives and still play dvd errors

Ok ill start from the beggining so it makes it easier for you to understand.
I purchased a broken elite xbox which would not read any games or dvd's, the drive i know had been repaired as it had a well known repair companies sticker on it.
Straight away i extracted the key from the drive and saved it.
I purchased a new liteon dg-16d2s pre flashed with 94530c firmware.
After flashing the drive to stock 02510c the drive will only read cd's and dvd's in my xbox, i had another spare drive and repeated the process but still the same problem.
Could the original drive have had the wrong key injected or am i doing something totally wrong. I am running the latest 2.0.146699 dash.
Any help would be much appreciated.

sounds like mismatch key. meaning the drive key doesnt belong to the console's motherboard they r married so to speak. u need to install cool runner and backup nand then flash xell retreive the dvd key and flash back the nand retail backup then build cfw spoof that key from xell and it will work agian. might as well get the cpu key and save it for later aswell since u have to flash xell. thats what i think is going on

thanks for that, i have been reading up on the nand and coolrunner, could you point me in the right direction of what i need to purchase as its a little confusing. Is it easy to use once installed in the box?

It is not easy to install this, but you are not really going to "use" it if you are just getting the key in xell.

Im on 14699 , i thought this was the latest dash as it has not asked for anymore updates.

no, u will also need a coolrunner. it would be cheaper to just have someone do it for you.

If you just need the drive key, you may be better off sending the board to somebody to retrieve the key for you as it may work out cheaper than buying the full kit.
