Will it boot to blue screen? (eject+ Power) if so, the bios version is wrong. did you get the right bios ver1.6? Did you tripple check pins 13,14, and 16. How is the heigth of the pins? (all level?).

Did you even bother to rebuild the LPC? Did you use wires or use the PCB board? Like he said ^ check your soldering and redo the install.

Also you need to have BIOS 1959_v16plus flashed to work on a 1.6 box.

Well a FRAG means that your D0 is correct and it is trying to boot from the X3 bios, but because the soldering on the LPC is bad it cannot boot. CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS on the LPC, I guarentee it will help and may I refer* you to this, it may help.

that happened to me too. Just desolder the back of those pins and pull them up a lil from the top with some plyers. Should work fine.

You can take a multimeter and check for continuity from pin 14 and 15 to the proper spots on the lpc. If you have continuity take some dykes, side cutters, wire cutters,w/e you want to call them and cut the pins down to the correct height. You said you have a light on the chip. How many lights do you have? You should have 2. One for 3v and one for 5v. If you only have one led lit, take out the harddrive, and the dvd rom drive.Boot your xbox. Look for 2 lights. If you only have one gently push on the modchip in the downward direction. If another LED lights then you need to make sure your soldering is correct. If you look at the soldering and have little balls on the pins you need to retouch the pins so the solder seeps into the holes.

You said you got to cromwell tho so this shouldnt be the case but something to check at the same time.

No for not gettin power to the external switch. have your tried booting with a long press. Do any of the leds come on? Make sure that both connectors are firmly plugged in, and also the one on the chip. Also make sure that none of the wires were stripped when you put the case back together.

The grounding shield could do this if there was enough tension on the wires.

Two blue leds indicates full power you only have one of the power wires check the pin heigth again and rock the cip in the pin headder while its on. If it does'nt work then its pin 16 This one is always the troublesome one in every inastall i have this problem with. It is the lone pin on the end. Heat the pin with your iron and melt the solder directly into the hole using the heated pin. Do this with the board resting on the empty chip box (plastic) wit a quarter or larger coin on top. this way when you heat pins none of them sink unevenly. the quarter is flat and dissapates the heat too. They must all be perfectly flat! Everything else works perfectly dont touch anything but pin 16. TRUST ME I'VE BUILT MORE THAN 50 1.6 versions. and this is a problem with one in five of them. Solder does'nt like to stick to the hole in pin 16 and then pin does not make contact. Help here is free don't pay for help. Just swing by here and help others every once in a while and we will call that payment.
