I've just taken out a 200 Gig hard drive from my 1.4 xbox to put in my 1.6b xbox I unlocked the drive, but the 1.6b xbox does not see the games folder on F partition there was about 40 odd games on their! Is it because of the bios is on the chip of the 1.6 b xbox which is currently "M8plus" Bios is there a new BIOS version which will sort out this problem for me?

firstly you say that it does not see the games folder on your F drive - can you see the F drive atall?

the M8 bios is a bit naff. Use the new Xecuter2 5035 bios. It comes in 2 flavours one version for 1.0 - 1.5(called old) and a version for 1.6 xboxes.

Yes it sees the F. drive on the evolution x screen it says F: 1.307.459.584 which is the space its seeing, but when I just took it out of the other xbox I know it was about 60 gig free left, also when I click on the games folder there is nothing that there but if I put it back in the previous xbox which it came out of it sees all the games in the directory! Do you think it is a BIOS problem? Where is the best place to look for the new bios?
Thanks

was it just M8plus or M8plus16 you had on the chip as the version you need is M8plus16?

Just to let you know mate, I've just found and re-flashed with the latest BIOS "5032" it is now working great, and sees the HDD and all the games like the old xbox ;-)

Cheers for you help much appreciated ;-) ;-)

Sounds like it was an incorrect LBA48 setting in the BIOS. I believe the default for the X2CE BIOSes is normal C and E partitions, F gets rest. If the M8 BIOS was C and E, F up to 137GB (or anything different than the setup on the 1.4) then the BIOS may have had trouble reading the file table. The readme bundled with the X2CE BIOS should tell you the 4 different settings if you are curious.
