Just need a few things comfirmed and any advice
I installed a 2.6CE into my Xbox 1.6 but had troubles finding the bios files som i used my friends Bios CD (1024k evoX) so it used both banks which i didnt want, but it does all work OK with Slayers
My brother wants his Xbox 1.4 done ,so i've order another 2.6CE

Is this OK

My brothers 1.4 Xbox

1)Install chip (check no frag)
2)Boot with bank 1 (bios3.0.1) switch to Bank 2(bios3.0.3) and program bank 2 with (X2 512k)
a)Can you load a 512k bois to just 1 bank or does the bios file have to be 1024k
b)Is there a (evoX) 512k file for just 1 bank
3)install slayers

My Hot swap 1.6xbox

Assuming everything is OK on my brothers Xbox
1)boot up my brothers Xbox with slayers evoX Auto installer DVD
2)remove his chip and install mine
3)got to option (5) flash modchip and flash with X2 5035
a)Will that flash just the bank i'm on ie bank 1 and bank 2 will have (evoX)
b)How could i flash 1 or both banks with (bios 3.0.1) to start again

Last question
Why cant i use my Xbox with my Chip boot with the evoX Auto installer DVD and just flash the chip with out swaping it to the other box

thanks nyck

Go to Xbins and download X2 5035. It is a Team Xecuter bios. When you extract it, you will find two bin files. One that has vOld in the name, and one that says v16. The one that says vOld is for 1.0-1.5, and obviously the other is for 1.6/1.6b. Both of these files are already 512k.

You are confused as to how flashbios works. When you boot to flashbios, flipping the switch to bank 2 will do nothing. Flashbios always flashes the first 512k to bank 1. It doesn't matter which bank you booted from or which bank is currently selected. This has been discussed more times than I care to count on this board.

Instead of using slayer's to flash the hotswap, just boot the 1.4 to flashbios again, and then do the swap. Your best bet will be to flash via HTTP if you can. Be sure to use the proper bios. Don't waste your time with an evox bios, 5035 is the best, and it is all you need.
