3.0.0 wont flash to 3.0.3 for 1.6b

After trying to get my x3 to work on my 1.6b and getting nothing but a solid orange light i decided to put it in a 1.3, it boots up fine and says that it has a 3.0.0 bios fine i say ill upgrade to 3.0.3 and put it back into the 1.6b....

But no this doesnt seem to work, i flash it with 3.0.3 and reboot it comes up 3.0.0 again so i try a diff. bank with same results, then i try the backup rom and it wont boot into it only the regular ms or the 3.0.0 if i hold the pwr/eject it shows purple on the panel put then doesnt boot or boots to the 2mg rom... tried flashing diff banks, right protect on and off, and unplugin the front panel with no headway, what happening here?

try bank 5678 off on off off, 3.0.3 might already be on your chip.

Nope no good, i tried this chip in my 1.6b which is the start of my hole problem. Got a solid orange light after install so i moved it to a 1.3 to make sure it wasnt my LPC rebuild that was at fault. After it booted fine under 1.3 i noticed that all banks including the backup was 3.0.0, NO good for my 1.6b so i took a chance and loaded the correct bios for 3029 v16 bios for version and moved the chip back and bang it works fine but i still have this 3.0.0 bios on their that doesnt support my 1.6b and it wont flash properly to change it to 3.0.3 not even the backup will flash. Dunno why but i have some friends who were waiting for me to do it first, i love being the ginepig. So ill just make sure they buy the same chip from a place that knows the 3.0.3 is in the second 1m bank and swap with them cause they have older systems.

Being a nOOb this was a great EXP. for me cause i learned alot of stuff, thanxs for the INFO and support VETS.

do you have flash protection on, check your cip and your switch,just a thought.

Ya flash protection was the first thing i checked then the cable for the external switch, i dunno why i couldnt flash from 3.0.0 to 3.0.3 from the cromwell bios but i was able to flash my backup thru the x3 bios all is good now.
