Please help - I bought an xbox pre-modded with x3 build 1959. One of my mates had turned it on and pressed some buttons without being aware.
After this my xbox would boot up with the 'service required' if booted with the chip off, and would boot upto to the default x3 screen but then could not launch anything from the dashboard.
Someone told me that I had lost my BIOS and need to flash my BIOS to get back up and running.
I have tried 2914 from DVD wich reading from the tutorial seemed to go fine as all the correct info was shown on the bios 3.0.0 manager screen.
But now I cannot boot either way:

Chip off - still get Service required screen
chip on - the box goes blue for a second the off, this happens three times then get red/green flashing again.

Spoke to the guys I bought it off but they recon I must have been trying the wrong bios.
This is a 1.6. Am i doin something wrong or have I lost my motherboard or something..????????????????????????

Apreciate any help...

ok ive just been poking around in my xbox and i had the same problem. im using a solderless adaptor for my x3 and i found when i pushed the chip down and made a better connection with the mobo, evryfin booted fine. so im guessing you may have the same problem in that you need to make a better connection with the mobo. try working around that and see what the outcome is

is the do soldered to the right point, i found that when i changed the do connection the xbox fragged like yours does, i mean its unlikely that this has happened. perhaps something is shorting in your xbox?

perhaps you should try booting up the backup on the chip and then reflashing it. you bios may have become corrupt or something.

try this

i guess your buddy messed the front panel switches , try putting it back on - on on off off , this is how you should have got it when you bought the box , if it doesnt work try booting with both eject and power pressed , this should bring you to the flashbios ( the blue screen ) which is the backup , then try to flash it with 1959 or 2914 , just make sure you are using the 2914 1.6 and not the 2914 . same for the 1959 . make sure you are not on flash protect mode ( the fifth switch should be off )
