if someone were to extract the 360 bios and it was under 2MB yes there is no reason you could not flash the 360 bios to an X3 - the question is: what good do you think that will do?
the 360 is a completely different architecture to the original xbox, not to mention way more powerful!!!!!!!
nothing would boot on from the 360 bios! you certantly could not play 360 titles on an original xbox.
I think it would be useless unless you're someone just trying to understand the structure of the BIOS it self or if you are a Homebrew Developer for the 360. It seems you would only go about doing this if you can't really afford a 360 but still want to work with it.
theres no way it would work! different system components! look at the problems changing the memory made with the 1.6. needed a whole new bios and that was just changing the make of the memory.
That is true, however, as all bioses can be modified to your liking, the 360 bios would have to have alot of it shaved off to work on the XBOX. Good point on the 1.6 models, didn't think about that.

Doubt it. I think that they are apples and oranges. Remember that the BIOS is what lets the OS talk to the actual components of the Xbox... different components different BIOS. A 1.0 and a 1.6b are almost the same but the bios's aren't compatible at all. The 360 was built from the ground up... so IMO no amount of "shaving" would help.
I think this guy thinks that BIOS and Dashboard are the same thing and wants his xbox to look like a 360. I would guess that a 360 skin for the xbox will come out pretty soon after the 360 hits the shelves.
Right. That's what came to mind when matt mentioned the differences of the memory use on the 1.6x models as opposed to the earlier 1.0-1.5.
And there is a very nice Unleash X skin that has the 360 dashboard. The skin starts up with the animation of the ball spinning and the "Xbox 360" text. Neat stuff.
