I send it into mode b. then when i click dump drive it freezes or actually crashes. i get a messed up looking screen how can i fix this

CK3 pro to power drive. I am using an on-board pci slot. I do have a VIA VT6421a chipset but when I connect the drive to it I cannot find it in jungleflasher.

Tick the "VIA Ports Only" box in JungleFlasher, also try and use WinAPI or PortIO (the option that isn't already selected).
Reading the JungleFlasher tutorial will help you also because once you remove the VIA drivers, JungleFlasher will give you a pop up box giving you information about when using a Hitachi drive (you will only see the drive under the DVDKey32 or MTKFlash tabs).

.Teamviewer? I doubt i have it. and the ck3 light is on. should I plug it in before I turn the computer on? or does that not matter?

It shouldn't matter, you can connect it with the computer switched on.
