I don't see an issue there. Just select the 78/79 button then restore fw.

tried that. . . its a 47 rev drive and that is the issue!! :rolleyes2:

cannot USBmodeB and if i put into modeB it disappears and makes my system HANG

running winxp pro x86. . . was running x64 before but had issues with jungleUSB as i was unable to flash sh*tachi drives so changed to 32bit instead

So wait... It is a Lite-On 7485 that is spoofed as a Hitachi 47, but shows up as a 78/79?

Have you tried to manually set Mode-B and then refreshing your drive list?

This is just a suggestions and I have no idea if it will work: Have you tried t Lite-On erase? I assume you have the drive key already.

your log says its a 78/79, but if you are sure its a 47, just tick the 47 button

i still don't see an issue here

your drive has been assigned a drive letter in windows, and you have RAM upload selected

---------- Post added at 15:39 ---------- Previous post was at 15:38 ----------

also, you shouldn't ever lite-on erase a drive that isn't a phat lite-on....

thanks for your response joe. . . i am just going to screen capture what happens with my JF when i select the correct revision for the drive. . . i know for sure it is a 47 as i took it out of an unopened xenon and put in it my falcon about a year ago as a temp measure but now i have a replacement liteon, i wanted to put this drive back in the xenon so i can sell it.

Check the pcb for epoxy.

I assume you were either already in modeb before connecting the drive? Or you used open tray?

Clarifying more details might help
