If like me you've just installed a coolrunner in your slim 4gb console and have a removable memory module and also have an internal HD installed, Then I suggest you remove the module (copy your profile onto the HD if needs be) when you re-assemble you slim as it will stop games bugging you where to save your data. I saw this suggestion on a youtube vid sorry I can't remember who's. Prob one of the best tips I've seen:)

Its a nuisance having to select a storage device when starting a new game, but that only would occur when inserting a game disc that you have never played before or deletion of that current game save. After removing the module, it only asks for it once, but if its currently installed every time you insert a game it would ask for it. I have mine currently installed, but it doesn't bother me much since i always backup my gamer profile every other week onto a USB drive in case of internal memory failure.

Its a good suggestion, but those who are willing to attempt this be cautious when opening the box especially if the warranty seals are not removed diligently because that will void its warranty.

If you don't like selecting a device for save games, I would recommend staying away from 14699 dash, which adds the cloud as another save device.
ok just looked there's an option in settings in memory to disable cloud saved games

Isn't there a way to disable the onboard 4GB via the NAND or perhaps as a future DashLaunch option?

I did this before I glitched mine, irritated me no end! Once you've got a 320GB HDD the 4GB MU seems pointless.

Only if your not using internal, it shows once when you start a game 1st save then it just saves without prompting. Basically if you have more than one device it will ask for a location on every save.
