5.2c on ms28?

I want to flash my ms28 withe the new firmware 5.2 using boot cd/xbm and samhack/samread.Do i still need to use the make extreme firmware .cmd to make the firmware.This is my first time flashing a ms28.I have flashed a ms25 and hitachi's before.I have been reading alot but i seem to be getting confused probably from reading too many different topics with problems,Please help me clear this up.

i have the xbf directory created with xbm and followed textbooks guide with the 2 checkmarked options,am i ready to backup the firmware with samread then samhack ?

If you follow the textbook method, then no you should not need to manually do the .cmd file to make a hacked firmware

I followed the textbook method, I still had to create the firmware myself. Could have been my fault though.
