500GB COD Bundle modable?

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. I modded my Jasper 360 a little over a year ago with a TX R-JTAG Ultimate Kit and it's been running great, but I just scored an amazing deal on a 500GB COD Bundle at Target and am hoping to replace the aging Jasper system with this new one.

Is there a way to know if it's moddable without opening it up (and if so, what chip do I need)? I know there's been reports of new Winchester motherboards in the wild, but all the posts I've seen relate to the 4GB model or the 500GB Fifa bundle that's in the UK. If I can't mod it, then I'll keep it sealed and either return it or sell it

Any help is most appreciated.

Not sure on your recent purchase may be a winchester......the AW bundle? However that Jasper most likely has a lot of life in it. Certainly would not swap it with a slim :)

It's this one here:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/consoles/bundles/500GB-holiday-bundle

I just don't want to be dead in the water in a couple years with a dead 360 and have no way to get my Rock Band on with the family. Also, I'm pretty sure it's a Jasper... was a long time ago that I modded it.

I was hoping to swap it with a slim due to my assumption that they were more reliable and quieter than the older consoles - is that an incorrect assumption?

Nothing more reliable than a jasper....

The Ghost bundle should be a corona I have not opened one. I am sure someone else will confirm shortly :)

No sh*t? I had no idea. I'd still be curious to know if this is moddable or not, but it's sounding like I'll be flipping it - Was able to score it brand new for $118. :cool2:

Thanks!

The only way to know for certain is to open it up, and remove the heatsync, then you can see what it is visually. the winchester has a smaller cpu, and is not glitchable, all corona models are glitch able though. but as it has been said, Jasper models are the best, even better then most slims, and are the least likely systems to get rrod.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll double-check that my older system is a Jasper and go from there. I still need to figure out what I need to do to get my boot times a bit more reliable, but that's for another thread I suppose.
