i've read the readme and read through the forum a little. I was curious if i have to patch the 5032 bios to read a 250gb hd or does it automatically detect this and adjust according? i saw the lba patch hack in the readme but i wasn't clear on that part. using a xenium spice and 250gb and slayer disk for install, decided on x5032 for bios but wanna know if i have to patch the bios before i ftp it to my hd for flash, thanks guys

You need to use the same LBA settings that your last bios used or you will get corrupt F/G drives.

i snagged x2config but the settings for the lba48 stuff is greyed out for it. someone just said they are not working yet. so i will grab x2ool to try that, this is brand new everything so im not worrying about corrupting anything. thanks guys, oh, xecuter, i'm not sure how to hexedit, otherwise i would do that

To hex edit the file just download a Hex Editer like Ultra Edit (Free 45 day trial) and then open the Bios you want to edit with it. Do a search for line 0x1b04 and the curser will move to the spot. You will see that it lands on a 01, replace this with a 0,2, or 3 depending on what option you want per the LBA instructions.
"lba48 partition modes:

0 = standard partitions
1 = F: gets all (Default)
2 = F: up to 137gb, G: gets rest
3 = F: up to 137gb, no G:

You have to patch 0,1,2 or 3 value at offset 0x1b04 (if you wanna hex dit manually)

hope this helps.

Flashing 5035 Bios - Do i need partition G?

Hi All

I have a 1.6 xbox, X2 CE, and a 200gb hard drive. When I patch and flash the chip with 5035, do i need to have G Partition or does 5035 bios support F=rest of drive for 1.6 and 1.6b.

I know with 1.6 and 1.6b you had to use m8_16 and m8plus bios. But with a hdd bigger than 137 you had to use partition G.

Question is, with 5035 on a 1.6 and 1.6b, do i need to set it to have G or can i just have F and all the available space will show one F?

FWIW, I've got a 1.0 box with a 120GB HDD and 5035 at the default LBA48 setting. When I installed the drive F picked up everything that was available. From what I understand the partition settings are independent of xbox version.

If you already have this 200GB installed in your box with another BIOS then you will need to set the LBA48 setting to match what you have currently in order to see your data. For some people they had to try a couple different settings before they got it. Either they didn't understand the setting or didn't understand what they had installed I guess.
