Sorry to ask a noobish question, but where is this deathly "5v pin" that is always being referred to? Is it the alternate pin on the chip?

Can someone explain that pin to me in greater detail. I did a pin header install and never used it... I also didn't know I should cover it up. Now you guys have me worried.

You only need it on 1.6 installs, and COVER it up if your not using it because if it touch's your board then say goodbye to your xbox.

next person I sell an x3 to im gonna swap my X3 for an X3CE.
That just gave me some evil thoughts. I was about to mod a friend's xbox...hmmm. I know they say the chips still function the same, but what would be the benefit of switching your original X3 with an X3CE?

hmm... i dont plan on having to install the same x3 chip in a 1.6 too soon... could i just cut the pin?

i dont need it and cutting it off would be safer. if absolutely needed for some odd reason, i can take it and solder a wire right onto it. but thats worst case scenario

right?
