Alright, I have read the FAQs, searched the forums, and looked around the internet...I was wondering if there was a picture or a detailed explanation on how to solder the 5v point for the x3...to both ends....on the motherboard and on the x3 chip

look on the right hand side and you'll see the x2.6/x3 installation for 1.6. It's all there.

On a 1.6 5V solders directly to the output of the 5V regulator and the other end does not solder it plugs onto the x3 at the alt-5v point.

Use wire part #5 for the original x3 or if you have the new red CE use single red wire supplied with the red connector on one end.
