hi i have a 6717 jtag it wont boot up after putting the freeboot image onto it obvs ive already had it in xell to obtain cpu key etc,,, i know this is a LDV problem

my question is... is there anyway of gettin a standard Jtag freeboot image to ignore ldv like a RGH would??

and if not then im guessing that will mean i must use the increase the highest ldv by one method until i get this machine to boot???

Thanks in advance:p

freeboot doesn't bother with ldv checks it bypasses them so it should just boot.
rgh requires the ldv to be correct or it will rrod, (I think that might have changed in the latest xebuild though)
how did you write the image to your xbox?
does it still boot to xell when you press the eject button?
have you returned it to stock nand to see if it rrod's?
xenons are funny and can rrod easily from just removing the board from the chassis.
I know you say you have had it booting to xell to get your cpu key but can you post some pictures of your jtag install so we can eliminate soldering issues.

I think you have it wrong pal,
jtags don't bother with ldv
it's probably a bad write or corrupt image
No, you have it wrong.

JTAG images must comply with the LDV of an xbox. Luckily, this is really easy to do.

RGH stuff is getting less and less affected by LDV

ok the first image is from the original nand dump,
the 2nd is from the freeboot nand created from the original. look at the ldv
the freeboot nand booted fine.
if ldv has to match how come the freeboot image boots fine?

How do I explain this....

Yes, LDV is important for Jtag as a whole, but it wasn't the matter of consideration since LDV change upon Official System Updates, while Jtags were confined to 7371 and below. Therefore, there was never any reason to discuss LDVs.

As for different LDVs in the Original and FreeBOOT images, like I mentioned above, as long as an Official System Update is not done, there is no problem if an LDV changes in a FreeBOOT image since it doesn't matter because the LDV has not changed actually.
