LITEON 74850 74850c burn out with smoke when flashing.

I burn out my xbox 360 dvd drive 74850c, first time flash this xbox and connect the worng way on the back of power source and burn out with smoke! ;)

so I order a new 74850c from ebay. and out in my xbox 360 only say play dvd only!
when I flash the first one I didn;t got my all .bin out and key too. I lost all of them!
so is this xbox 360 still can be alive? I still can get in the dash screen with out the dvd drive on the xbox 360. so please help!
I need to keep this xbox 360 for repair or going to trash can ?

You of course need the key from the burned out drive, and the only way to get that is to lift the IC chip and put it on another board or in a programmer... if the chip is not damaged.

I don't understand why people go straight to trying to write firmware, instead of backing up their dummy.bin, Oh well, if you follow what rdubbs007 said you should be able to bring it back. Lesson learned

I'm sure the board of the drive is burn out very bad ! whenI connect to my x360usb and xbox 360 system and do nothing !!!

post pictures of your burned PCB, there is a chance that it can be repaired.

the board looks the the same like b4 I just smell something in the drive and see the smoke! after that I plug in to pc or xbox and do nothing no power !!! and can't open .

I saved fried boards before but need to see the board in order to tell. Open the drive, remove the PCB and see if there are any points that are burned or damaged and post pictures of it.

Hi, I have the same problem, with the liteon 74850c and wanted to know if this drive is salvageable.

You'll be best off starting your own thread. Some will call it hijacking which isn't aloud.

Threads that are asking questions are ment to be about specific problems.
