Hi guys,

I was brought an X360 with a broken Hitachi 59DJ and a brand new 79FL as a replacement.

I sticked to JF tutorial as flashed the 79FL with LT+2.0b spoofed as the previous 59DJ. No issues on this but when I tried to make it run, XGD3 backups won't boot: console locks up and bottom right red light goes on. 14699 dash, for the record.

Well, let's bring back this 79FL back to Stock and look for a 59DJ somewhere else. That's when the big problem comes: I put it in mode-b, I unlock it using the 79unlock audio CD but when the time of flashing comes it says "dumping flash" and JF freezes. Any ideas?

Here's the JF log:

Many thanks in advance. I assume there's no way I can use this 79FL in a console that previously has a 59DJ one but the main issue now is that I can't "repair" that 79FL and bring it back to its original state.

Geez, I opened the thread, made another test and I could unspoof the drive. As it was already flashed, once done that, I put it back in the X360 and now all games boot fine.

The steps I take were, with the 79FL drive spoofed as 59DJ and flashed with LT+2.0 alongside with 59DJ's key, I clicked on tab GDR3120, sent mode-b, unlocked with 79Unlock, I chose the drive in the top right dropdown list, I chose 79 / 78 in the Drive Revision and finally I chose Manual Spoof. After that I left the key unchanged, and I clicked on the Hitachi79 in the list and the bottom of the pop-up window.

Hope this thread helps in case anyone is in a similar situation. Long story short: no need to spoof any more if replacing an Hitachi drive with another Hitachi drive. My bad.

The thread won't help anybody, spoofing from a non-AP25 to an AP25 drive is not the way to do things.
