Well since the slims have the rgh isnt there a way to unlock the drives and flash the firmware to them straight from xell or some other homebrew program? i mean, we(when i say we i mean "we" as a collective whole) have pretty much destroyed the security on them they are pretty well cracked wide open(then again thats subjective) shouldn't there be a way for us to unlock a drive using an rgh'd console, cause i mean m$ wouldnt really lock themselves out would they?

Yes, they have locked themselves out AFAIK. Locking the SPI cannot be unlocked via software or we would be doing it.

As for cracked wide open, a slight exaggeration methinks.

Yeah, the SPI is locked for now, til they update the firmware again, which im sure they will sometime in the future after lt+3.0 comes out

and not a slight exaggeration, a biiiiiiig one... i was just wondering about it is all. cause i mean how many people would just go... "hey, how about i dremel into this here IC and attach 3.3v power and a resistor to it ,and maybe it will unlock" i mean thats genius.. anyways, my two cents..

They decapped the IC and with the datasheet to hand, worked out how to allow the SPI to be unlocked. There were other methods apparenty but the kamikaze is the least destructive.

Again, the SPI is locked and cannot be unlocked through software commands.

its been stated before that if microshaft were to update the drives again unlocking them in the process that the method or signal or whatever could then be analysed and another way found. do you really think microshaft are THAT stupid. you can always hope though but you would be better reading up on what you are hoping to achieve, not really sure where your going to read though lol

The drives were made read only for a reason. The whole point was that after xgd3 would be the last step for the 360 before a new console, so no need to ever update again. Me thinks your hopes are misplaced for a software unlock.
