Don't know what you're using to view/remove stuff on the file system, but if it's DVD2Xbox there is a step you need to do to refresh the games list, I believe this also updates what is reported for available space.

If you've only got space for 6 games you may still have the stock HDD, or only a small upgrade. (I've had 6+ small games on my stock drive, but they were all pretty small.) Might want look into swapping that out with a larger drive.

What do you mean you want to burn new games? The Xbox doesn't have any type of burner.

That's what I figured, but I was wondering if they were trying to rip the games to the hard drive to make an ISO to back them up, and I was going to say you could do it all in one step w/ Qwix. I never understood why people say they are going to "burn it to the hard drive".

Seems like "burn" has started to become slang for "copy," "rip," "dupe" and the like, go figure. At one point when I was running Ava as my dash I found that Qwix didn't play well with Ava's FTP at the time. (Think it was a boost mode issue.) Wound out tossing that idea and instead first ripping with DVD2Xbox, play testing the game off the HDD for a bit, then FTP'ing over to my PC if desired. Ripping a game across FTP (slow!), then burning an xISO, finding it didn't work and then later figuring out that it was a problem due to new copy protection or other issue at rip seemed like a big waste of time. And now I'm about to drop a 250GB drive in my box, should be big enough for my entire library rather than just my favorites. The longest FTP I will probably do going forward, short of a system backup, is XBMC updates.

I never understood the reason people make posts like "i just put in xecuter chip but i had tu use some tape and cable wraps to get wiresto stay now all i get is reboots and blinking eject button what did i do wrong pls hlp!"

80 gigs will get you around 20-25 games if I remember correctly. If you mean you want to erase all of the games on the drive, just go to the File Manager in DVD2Xbox, and go to your F drive. You will probably see a folder called Games. You can delete this folder to get rid of all the games, or you can go into the folder and delete only the games you want.

To completely start over, get a copy of Slyer's Auto Installer, and have that format and rebuild your drive.

I don't think rescanning is necessary to update the free space. I've been ripping a game while deleting stuff via FTP. While the rip is happening, the free space doesn't update, but as soon as I go to rip the next disk, it updates the free space without having to do a rescan, so I doubt that is the problem.

First, I would make sure you are running the latest DVD2Xbox (0.7.1, I think).

Then, go to Game Manager, press Y and choose Rescan HD. That will update the games on your hard drive.

Also, by pressing Y from here, you can delete games too.

If you delete everything from there, and you still don't have much space, then I suspect you have games in directories that DVD2XBox isn't looking at. Unfotunately, the only way to change the directories that DVD2XBox looks at is to edit the xml file.

I would recommend going to Settings -> Network and turning on network and FTP, then FTP into your XBox (The IP address should be listed at the bottom of your TV and the user/pass is xbox/xbox.) Then, go to your F drive and look at what folders you have. If you have a games directory and then everything is under games, then you shouldn't have to edit the xml file. But if you have a shooters directory (for example) and then there are game directories under that, then you will need to add shooters to your dvd2xbox xml file. (If all of your game directories are in the root of drive F, that's okay too.)

and it already has an upgraded harddrive 80 gig is that enough
Depending on the size of the games, you shoudl get between 20 - 30 games on an 80 gb drive.

I guess I should also tell you to make sure you are ripping to F, not E. The E drive would only be about 4 gig, all the extra space goes to F. Make sure drive F is enabled in DVD2Xbox general settings.

I think you hit the white button to get to the settings. If not, you could always FTP into the directory, grab the settings file, change it on your computer and then put it back.
