A tough one: XBOX 360 Slim with 2.0.9199.0 and a Samsung drive...

Hey all, Im a veteran flasher, I posses an X360USB Pro and a kit to power drives and been flashing drives for years, but a guy brought me a tough case that I cant solve:
1- XBOX 360 SLIM / MFR Date: 2010-04-24
2- Dash 2.0.9199.0
3- Samsung Drive with correct KEY and iXtreme firmware (he has been playing old games till the drive broke).

Problems:
1- Old dash -> Newer games do not work.
2- No original dummy.bin -> No direct replacement of Slim drive. In fact I dont know which drive was it (I assume LiteOn DG-16D4S).
3- Old flash on idiotic old samsung drive (which I know it will never read XGD3 games).

For what Ive been reading I cannot simply put a LiteOn DG-16D4S as I dont have the original dummy.bin, I only extracted full dump from the Samsung drive which has the original KEY.
RGH? New slim Drive? "Xbox 360 DVD drive Emulator"?

Suggestions please...?

It was probably a 9504 in there. So yes, you can just put any D4S in there.

Use the lizfix to writekey the key to 9504 fw, then go play games.

So, to get things straight:
1. I get a LiteOn 9504 drive, no matter which firmware it had.
2. I edit the the file LTPlus-0225-v3.0.bin with my working KEY using this tutorial:

1. Download the lizard toolbox.
2. Open the toolbox and clicked no to all the popups.
3. Go to the "CFW Generator" tab.
4. Go to "Advanced Veiw".
5. Click the "Load FW" and open the LT version corresponding to the drive in the destination feilds.
6. Click on the "..." button by the keys and select "Allow me to Manually type a value" and type in your key.
7. Click on "CFW Save As", click yes to the popups, and save the file.
8. Open the file in Jungleflasher as both the source and target.
9. Flash to drive and ignore unspoofed message.

Then I update dashboard to latest. Done? What about serial numbers of laser/pcb/serial of drive? I dont have them.

Also, maybe I want to update dashboard to lastest version BEFORE solving DVD drive issue. Could I have any problems updating:
1.Without a drive.
2.With a wrong drive (the broken samsung!).
3.With a 9504 drive with DVD key only and not laser/pcb/serial?

Also, can I ignore that the Samsung drive is broken and go stright to RGH (which I dont know how to do it YET) and use any other 360 drive or no drive at all and play backups from HD or USB?

No. Just get any spi-unlocked 16D4S.

I dont want to be ungrateful nor disrespectful but Im really looking for good and clear explanations as I want to learn and make my own decision. Maybe someone could elaborate a longer response to my questions? Doing this will probably help others who have a similar problem like me.

If u plan to keep it rgh u can use different drive

As I still have many question unanswered, I will post here what I think are my chances and see if anyone tells me Im right or wrong.

1. I can replace the crappy Samsung drive with an unlocked LiteOn 9504 drive, use "lizfix" (Lizard Toolbox) to create a file for my drive using LTPlus-0225-v3.0.bin and the correct DVD key despite not having laser/pcb/serial of original drive, and then update to latest dashboard.
2. Buy an "Xbox 360 DVD drive Emulator" and create a dummy.bin file using "lizfix" (Lizard Toolbox) using LTPlus-0225-v3.0.bin and the correct DVD key despite not having laser/pcb/serial of original drive, and then update to latest dashboard.
3. RGH the 360 and dont use any dvd drive at all. (I think I will start experimenting with this option as I find it really fun to experiment and later charge customers for the service once I buy and learn all I need).

I have learnt that this Xbox 360 Slim (250GB) is in fact a "Trinity". Could anyone point me the correct items I should get to RGH this one and maybe many others as well? Despite looking in RGH noob section, this is not clear.

a cr rev c will be enough to RGH the system, then extract the required files to build a LTU2 image and flash it to the drive job done.

then either return to stock to play on live or keep as RGH up to you.

The thing is Im not sure of many things and maybe with a little more explanation I can provide my own solutions for future cases.

Im surprised at your response as admin. Thanks god Im on the noob forum, I would've been ripped apart on somewhere else! Of course I can read, and of course I have searched for info before asking, and of course I have read all suggestions. Maybe you should have a little more patience? As a modder myself I like to make my own decision based on the options I have available. I found strange that despite being on noob forum noone takes a little more time to explain with detail, nor use full words. Dont take this as a destructive criticism but a suggestion. Here is the deal. I told you exactly what you need to do to completely fix the console.

You use the writekey function in JF to put the key into 9504 FW.
This process is well documented in the Lizfix tutorial.

You keep talking about 0225 fw, which makes no sense at all.
9504 were updated to 0272 fw.

If you actually looked at the lizfix tutorial, you'd actually understand why what i said was all that was needed.
