A Very Weird Flash Problem

PREFACE: I've tried both the disc and the network. I'm using 1959 bios on a v1.0 XBox. Also, both flash protection switches are off.

Ok, using either method, it has no problem finding the file. It's says the "FLASHING XECUTER" and warning, but then no progress bar comes up, it and it immediately starts flashing green/amber...

I'm assuming the flash doesn't take because on reboot it brings me back to the FlashBIOS screen. It also won't let me into X3CL no matter what buttons I hold on the controller...

Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me

1.6 xbox. I rebooted and got a black screen with the light flashing green and red. Will try to resolder 13 & 14

My machine isn't fragging or black screening or anything like that.

It's just that when it is supposed to be in the process of "flashing" there is no progress bar and it instantly starts flashing green/orange...

Then, when I reboot, it brings me right back to the FlashBIOS screen...

It sounds like you might have a corrupt bios file. Try downloading it again to make sure you have a good copy. I hope this helps.

same problem as me, have tried multiple different bios'. I found that by using the backup bios you can get an x2 bios to work. Still i am going to get hold of my supplier on www.mrmodchips.com and see what they suggest.

I'll try that suggestion... How do you get an older bios? The only one on xbinx is the newest...

Also, plz post what your supplier says... it's conceivable there is something wrong with the chip...

The exact same thing happened to my xbox version 1.1 If anyone has solved this problem please let me know.

SATA cable yes.

PCI card only if you do not have a sata port on your computer compatible with your xbox 360 drive.

Follow the tutorial and you should be fine.

how would I know if it is compatible?
I have 7 pin sata cable, its red for my Hardrive and cd rom

What chipset have you got? i was lucky i got the Nforce2 chipset...

I'm assuming for my motherboard and it is
AMD 785GX (Chipset)
So I assume I need to buy that PCI card
what is it called
and do i need anything to make it work?

or are there any up to date guides on how to do all of this?

Yes, The sata card is a VIA 6421A, All you need is a free PCI slot on your motherboard.
