Ok so I installed my X3CE chip and am pretty sure that I flashed it properly, but I have one problem. After I boot up my Xbox, which is version 1.2, it shows the Xbox logo and then the Xecuter rox my box symbol below, but then goes to a black screen with red writing saying, "NO Xectuer3 Chip Detected!" What did I do wrong??

what bios did you flash it with and how was your chip installed solderless or soldered on the board.....also you may wanna try reflashing your chip

Ok so the flash I used came from xbins and the file name was FlashX3.rar. The bios I used after opening the file was titled bios.bin. The chip itself was a soldered install on the board. Hopefully this extra info provides some more insight.

Ok so I have now acquired the flash so if I simply hold the power and eject buttons and the xbox boots into 256k mode, that is where I reflash from correct? Now if in fact I screw up here, will my chip be pooched?

power and eject are your backup bank and can not be flash over by itself you need to go into the x3 bios to do this but you dont need to if its working ok only v1.6b xbox have to do that
boot backup bank bios (power eject)have switch set to on on off off off then flash it
then just tap power button to enable chip with working x3 bios
now you will be in x3 config screen disable Autostart x3 Config Live

then set x3 to boot to your dash you have installed
http://x3.bustedchain.com/x3configlive.html#bios

then were you installed your dash

now to do one more thing backup you eeprom
http://x3.bustedchain.com/eepromtools.html

full guide here

DO NOT SET THE PASSWORD IN X3CONFIG

OK so the flash worked!! Thanks for the help guys. I just have a couple more questions. I am not too sure how do install my dashboard onto the box so if you could help with that it would be greatly appreciated. Also when I turn on the box after holding the power button and the chip light is red, error 13 appears in the top corner of the screen so I was just curious if after loading the dash, that problem will disappear and I will be able to play games without the chip. Thanks again guys for putting up with my NOOB comments.

Ok, easiest thing to do is to go to xbins and get the latest slayer...

It's quick and easy. If you can't find it I'll host the .iso for ya.

But seriously, it's really easy and it does everything you need to get started.

Enabling DHCP worked and accessing the xbox from FlashFXP also worked, but when I try to drag the files from my computer onto the C drive of the xbox it says transfer failed. Any help on this one?

ok here is some new info if it helps anything at all. when i open up flash fxp and log into my xbox, the only folder that has anything in it is the Admin folder. Folders C-Z are completely empty. Why would this be and is there anything to do? I replaced my old HD with a new one and didn't back it up, would that have anything to do with my problem? thanks guys.
