Abit stuck could do with some advice please

Hi am new to this but have researched what I could. have found out by the power supply inlet that my xbox is a Falcon and the date of manufacture is 24.06.2008
The dashboard version is 2.0.14699.0 so thats obviously been updated recently. I am not interested in burning games onto disks I want to put them on to an external hard disk. What options are open to me with this machine ?

Have you ever sent you falcon back to MS for repair? If so this lessens the chance of RGH because it is likely your CB has been updated. That is one of the reasons to read/understand the link/info blakey8 has pointed you too...

MFR date of 2008 would indicate that it's RGHable.

Service Dates weren't applied to the returned labels until 2009 and even then, CB_B consoles weren't about until 2010.

Thank you for the additional info MartinC! I was unaware of the exact date they started with CB_B, I just knew my falcon got hit with it when it was sent back for warrantee repair.
