Hi all,

I'm having a weird experience flashing my DVD drive.
The drive is Winbound DG16D4S on dash 13599.
So, it's supposed to have write protection enabled.
However, using JungleFlasher, I'm able to get Spi status 0x00 and also able to write to the drive.

I'll post the JF log once I get home.

Is that weird to be able to write to Winbound DG16D4S on dash 13599?

Thanks.

I do not see any hole on the Winbound chip (wiring cutting hack).
The chip also does not look like being replaced before.
It just looks like original drive.

thier has been plenty of reports back when the scene was trying to figure out what we were gonna do for the masses to flash these things of people having unlocked drives from factory, nobodys perfect, things dont get done 100%,100% of the time, just be happy that you didnt have to drill :)

Would you beforehand that it is a windbond and locked, and you just proceed to flash it?
I did it quite some time ago.
Let me dig back the log when I get home.

When I saw this is Winbound on 13599 before, I immediately purchased TX replacement PCB and installed everything nicely.
After that, I played around with the original PCB and saw that I can actually write to it!!!
I just bought a new XBOX. I'll try to flash this PCB with the new DVD key and install to the new XBOX to see whether it actually works.
