Hey everyone,

Having an issue getting XGD3 backups to work on the aforementioned drive. I have tried both AC:R and Driver; AC:R will not load to the dashboard and Driver shows up but throws the "Unrecognized Disk" error.

I know that using ABGX is useless in my case since the drive doesn't support the topology data. The backup works on another device running LT+3.0 so I know the discs and burn settings are correct. (And I am using an iHAS burner).

I have a feeling that something is wrong with the AP2.5 reply sector. I have tried running the ISO through ABGX and then replace the AP2.5 reply sector with one but it didn't work (I used XBC to do this). I may not have used the correct one, or this may not even be possible to do.

This Xbox hasn't been on Live since it was flashed so I'd assume I haven't been hit with the dae bin update.

Could someone point me into the correct direction?

Thanks

You need to update your dashboard 14699
He is running a Hitachi 79. No LT 3.0 for them yet. Once he updates to 14699, the dae.bin update will hit and he will not be able to play any AP2.5 games.

OP: You are patching your games with the AP2.5 topology designed for LT 3.0. These games will give any drives running 2.0 or 2.01 a bad response and the console will throw an unrecognized disk error.

you must use the older topology data for disks BEFORE the silent update or wait for LT 3.0 to be released for Hitachi 78/79 drives.

Fantastic... I updated the dashboard without realizing there was more posts in the thread.

Oddly enough I can still play my backup of AC:B without any problems. I thought the dae.bin was only applied when you connect to Live not by just updating the dashboard or am I mistaken?

I had tried applying the topology data (before realizing that LT+2.0 cannot make use of it). I don't quite know where I can get the older topology data from or even how to do so.
