okay after I installed my CE 3 on my 1.6 the X under the control panel had always been red. a couple of times it just decided to work properly and flash blue 3 times when properly enabled. when it was blue i never got to the bios screen because i didn't know about the different banks. it seemed to be as right when i found out about the banks, the light under the X is just staying on red.. i did not open the box then it changed, it just changed while it was all together. so i took it apart and looked at all of the soldering, nothing seems to be wrong.. not sure how to get the darn light blue again

any ideas?

What's happening? Is it booting up to the original dashboard or is it a blank screen? Is the eject light flashing any colours? if so, which?

if i hold down the power button, it boots up the normal xbox green screen..

if i press th e power button, it flashes 3 times with red lights on the power switch (i switched the LED's to red so - normal i guess), red lights on the X (control panel). when it stops flashing the xbox is on with a blank screen, and will not eject

and if i hold down power and eject to turn on, it does the same as if i touch the power button

Hard to tell since you changed the led's. The colours that it flashes helps you work out what the problem is. My guess is that right now you have a soldering problem. Check the voltage on each of the pins on the pin header, and check continuity on each point on your LPC rebuild.

what about specific solder points - i've definately double checked every one and they all seem to look fine, and if one didn't look so good, i had it fixed before i first booted it..

any specific solder points you would recommend checking when i open her up again?

That's the reason for checking voltage. If you post here with the voltage on each pin (take the chip off, but leave xbox plugged in, obviously) we can help you work out the problem.
