Despite being available for pre-order at major retailers, Bungie's recently revealed Destiny isn't going to launch in this calendar year. An Activision Blizzard press release sent out today noted: "Activision has not included [Destiny's] launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result."
Oh, and in case there's any confusion about calendar '13 versus fiscal year, Activision Blizzard is one of the few companies that has its fiscal year synched with the planet's trip around the sun.
The 2010 contract between Activision and Bungie regarding Destiny tentatively scheduled four retail games for the fall of 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
