Adding a new HDD?

I just recently got an XBOX for myself and plan on doing some major modding to it, but I have a question about putting in a new HDD. How hard is it to install a new HDD? I'm planning on putting an 80GB HDD in it and I wanted to know how I should go about doing this. Should I install the X3 chip first and then do I just swap the new HDD with the old one and use a feature of the X3 to format the new HDD and everything? Thnks for any help.

Install chip - Backup your C:\ and E:\ Drives - Put in new Hard drive - Goto disk tools > format drive > Copy your backup, and it's done.

and also set the jumpers either on cable select or slave (one must work)
