I bought an xecuter 3 ce modchip for my xbox and installed it. when i turn on the xbox i get flsh bios 3.0.1 and it gives me a list of options. What i want to know is how should i install a lockable hard drive.I recently bought a 250gb hard drive which is lockable, but i dont know the correct way to install the new hard drive. I got a y cable just in case i had to connect both stock hd and new hd to make hd work. How do i correctly install a new hard drive to a xbox with an xecuter 3 ce modchip instlled plus i need some flashbios 3.0.1 tutorials.
thanks

First of all, flash the bios on your mod chip. There are plenty of tutuorials and stickies on these forums.
Then Ftp into your Xbox and backup C: and E: partitions to your PC.
Install new HDD and Boot to X3CL. From there you can format and partition your new drive.
Now Ftp back into your Xbox copy the contents of C: and E: onto your new HDD.
If you want to, you can also lock your HDD from X3CL too.

Job done.

I have installed an xecutor3 chip, hardwired in a 1.0 xbox, x3 3029 bios and a 200gb Maxtor lockable hard drive. All went well but how do I get back to change the bios settings? Whenever I boot up its goes straight to the Evox dash. I have tried flashing to different banks but it always boots to the dash. I can, get back to the bios settings. Thanks All

Try holding the White controller button down on boot until it goes into the Bios screen.

IF that does not work than it means that you should re-check pins 13, 14, and 15 on the header.
(If they are incorrect, the chip can function, BUT not get you into the Bios.)

Another thing to try is pulling the chip up a little/correcting the chip's position.
My 1.6 wouldn't work even after re-soldering 5x, but once I lifted the chip like 1/16th of an inch BANG, flashed like a charm. It's worth a try, hell it takes hours to re-solder several times, but a few repositions is just minutes.
