after first boot ...nothing

i installed my chip and everything seem to be working ok
i got to the flash bios screen and accidently pushed a button and it said locking harddrive. now it wont boot all i get is FRAG :evil: , but I can still boot with the chip disabled.

btw i wrote the Hd key down just incase

unlucky..............too bad u cant unlock it now....i dont think, unless you know anyone else with a modded xbox so that u can place it in his/hers and use a program to unlock it......there is probably an easier way so just wait for another reply.

Locking the hard drive will not cause frag. I'd check your wiring/install, sounds like something has come loose or is shorting out somewhere.

Yeah, since you can boot with it disabled I would check your D0 point. That's one characteristic of it not having a good connection.

I ended up with a loose connection on one of the pins
Resoldered the pins and everything works great now

You should play on XBL - to me, the Xbox 360 is no fun without it. If you choose to stay offline that's almost the same as being banned.

As for being banned - it will happen eventually, but then you can just sell your console and buy a new one or use it on XBC/XLink-Kai/Leaf/System Link.

Well, Xbox 360 games have a built in ping filter that would only allow you to connect to people with a very good internet connection (so only people who live near you, basically). I've managed to get a few small games of CoD: MW2 on XLink-Kai - and it's also good if you have a bunch of friends who play, then you can go online and play each other. People on XBC mostly still just play Halo 2. Leaf isn't made specifically for system link games so it's hard to find people - I wouldn't recommend that. I would recommend XLink-Kai.

The ping filter can now be removed if you have a JTAGed console (see here) and I think it's only the clients that would need this removed (the host can still have the ping filter).

I've actually been trying xlink kai and it doesn't work for me at all. Its hard to find anyone near you and if you do its hit and miss. You're right about not playing online. Its nice to play against and talk to people on xbox live. I jsut dont know whether to get it now and risk it, or wait until the future when possibly it will be so stealthy that M$ wouldn't even know a modded console is on Live.

Oh and yeah I know about the whole ping removal system but really, how many people do you think actually have a JTAGGED 360. The process of jtagging looks crazy too.

thats exactly what i do. works like a charm. I just move my profile back and forth using a memory card.

Banning will always be a reality, so if you go online just be aware it could happen. I own three banned consoles and one non-flashed, that will remain that way.

Any game you'll play, is worth purchasing. Support the developers who are worth supporting. Let the shovelware vendors pass on.
