after flashing i receive unrecognizable disk and open tray error

My Specs:
Phat Xbox 360
JF 1.92
X360USB pro
CK3 lite
Probe v3
Windows 7 64bit pro
Lite-on DG-16D2S stock
LT3.0

What i did:
1. updated stock lite-on from 2.0.12413.0 > 2.0.15574.0 via live.

2. Then i flashed the liteon drive with the above tools. My JF result will be posted and attached below for further review. From what i can tell the flash was successful.

3. Re-flashed a second time after my problem occured (discussed below).

4. Purchased a new laser without the static ball attached, still waiting on delivery.

Problems:
1. The drive won't read any kind of disk. Regular store bought games, dvds, and cd's as well as back ups of all 3 different kinds of media. Backup games are done correctly (i won't get into all the details like kprobe results), because i have 2 identical phat consoles both flashed with lt3.0, both liteons and the backups work on the non problematic console.

2. The errors i receive are an unrecognizable disk and an open tray error while the disk is inside the drive.

3. While keeping the case open and having the top cover removed from the dvd drive i noticed the disk spun, then stopped, then spun again, rinse wash and repeat for approx 3 minutes then completely stopped and the laser does light up.

4. The error status code is 03-08-00.

I'm not a complete noob; i've flashed a handful of times before, but this is the first time i've had such a problem. I'm coming here because even though i've had experience flashing, i haven't flashed a console in about 6 months so i'm a little rusty. Prior to the flash and the dashboard update all store bought media played correctly. Post flash (i did not try playing anything between the time i updated the dash to 15574 and performed the flash) nothing works.

I've read that some people believe the anti piracy measure's MS uses with these newer dashboard can cause the laser to burn out and or disconnecting the ribbon wire can prevent this (which i didn't know prior). Will a new laser solve this problem or is there another solution.

Can anyone help me out and guide me to the correct solution? Thanks again.

thank you for responding, i've already ordered the laser and just waiting for it to arrive. Are you familiar with this sort of problem? Has it happened before and if so, do you know why and how to prevent this from happening with other console flashes in the future?

Disconnect the laser ribbon before flashing.

not necessary. the idea that this helps is fallacy

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.
so if it doesn't help then is the flash or update the cause of the laser going bad? And what do you do to prevent it from happening in the future?

update: I swapped the laser out with a new one and everything works. Backups and regulars play fine, so thank you to everyone who took the time to help me out, greatly appreciated.
