Hello, I decided to make a post after ready a lot of the tutorials and not fully understanding exactly how backing up with the 360 works.
Reason why, I need to know is because I own a Xbox 360 but also have a much younger brother...who, well doesnt do very well keeping things organized. I own a PS2 as well, that is modded and I've been able to back up all of my games, since before that, I lost over 5 games(Including my precious God of War), since my little brother keep getting them scratched to the point of unplayable. Now that I own a 360, I fear that he will destroy my games, even GRAW 2, as he tosses them out to play Kameo or whatever he wants to do.
Now soldering, the modchip will most likely not be a problem since I did well with the PS2 chip. The problem is I'm not exactly sure how the rest of the process follows since with the ps2 all I needed to do was ISO and burn.
From what I understand. I need to buy another hard drive, that is "unlocked"(I have looked into it and know where there are cheaper ones). Buy a modchip and then I get lost.
I supposed I need to "flash" the new hard drive, and I need to do this with my PC, how would I go about doing that? I've seen in other places where it says I won't need another drive.
Also, what do I do once the hard drive is flashed and supposedly ready to be installed. Is the modchip installed onto this new drive or is it installed somewhere on the motherboard like the PS2 one is?
Another question(I have so many lol 8O ), say I want to back up GRAW 2(First order of business), I have heard from different sources that there is a way to save the back up straight into the new hard drive for the 360 and not have to use a DVD at all to burn a new back up(I don't think this is viable though, just doesn't sound right). I've also read about using Xtreme Boot and programs of the sort to burn physical backups of my games and use that(Figured this is the correct way). Which way is correct?
Also, I have read about Team Underdog's NME-360 modchip, saying that it will automatically turn off itself(great, when I'm playing and can use the original copy of GRAW 2 for Live), unlike other chips which have switches or simply do not have that option. Is this modchip as great as it sounds(The reviews dont seem to say that, or people's comments for that matter haha).
If anybody could shed any light on any of these issues, which I'm sure are probably me, just "Not getting it", or could direct me to anywhere where I could find out in layman's terms would be much appreciated..
My brother is with his friends in the basement playing 360 right now, and I fear for my games' well-being, this is a distress call haha
.
Thank you all ahead of time
