I purchased a replacement power supply on Ebay, the PS was an after market model that can be switched from 120v to 220v. When I got it it looked really cheap but it did work. I used it quite a while but I had it connected to a HDTV and the picture was perfect. I sold the Xbox to a friend and soon he was complaining about the picture, I took it home and still it looked perfect until I connected to a composite video out and indeed the picture sucked. Well after checking everything I got a original PS and now it's perfect picture. I guess my point in posting this is so anyone else looking for a replacement PS would be better to look at an OEM unit rather than a knock off unit sold on Ebay.

The original spare parts, are better, top quality and most important specifically design for the System... they must be our first option...

No the OEM (factory) is not switchable. The PS I bought on Ebay is but is a piece of junk but it does work. The wires in the connector came loose and it creates a distorsion pattern in the composit video. The video looks like a TV picture when someone is operating a CB radio next to it. It is nice to be able to switch from 120V 60 cycle to 220 50 cycle but I don't plan on doing that, I bought it because it was cheaper that a used unit ($19.95 plus shipping).

I see this power supply all over Ebay, it's the one that has 2 power connectors for 1.0 1.1 and 1.2 - 1.5.

I bought a cheap one for a 1.0 around 9.95 (i think) anyways I had no problem with it picture wise, however it wasn't one of those switchable ones. it may just be that the one that you bought mess up the picture.
