Following the announcement of Remedy Entertainment's new project, Quantum Break, at the Xbox One reveal, the company's creative director Sam Lake has taken to YouTube to explain to fans why the long-awaited Alan Wake 2 may take that little bit longer to arrive. "I wanted to take a moment to talk to all Alan Wake fans," Lake began. "These games are huge undertakings, and many things need to fall into place - the right partners, and the funding. From the creative perspective, it would be awesome if we could just create cool stuff and not worry about minor details like money.

"But we all know that that's not the case. When Alan Wake came out, it was not a huge hit on day one. The Alan Wake franchise has moved more than 3 million copies since, which is a nice figure. But when the game was released, that was not the case immediately."
Essentially, it all comes down to time and money - two things that the studio doesn't have to dedicate to Wake at the moment. "We knew from the beginning that when Wake ends up in the dark place, getting out of there is going to be a long hellish journey and a hard struggle." Lake said, "And I guess where we are now is fiction becoming reality.
"We definitely want to keep working on Alan Wake, I definitely want to create something new for Alan Wake when the time is right." The video also announces a Humble Bundle sale for the complete Alan Wake collection, which also comes with some previously unreleased material.
It ends with Alan Wake literally being boxed and shelved in a dark warehouse. Let's hope he won't be in storage for too long. Check out the video for yourself below. The original game is now £4.49 on Xbox Live - it'd be rude not to, really.
