Hi!

Here is my troubles.. I was using a spoofed BenQ on my xbox for a while and once i wanted to update to LT3.0 I found out spoofing no longer worked so i went out and bought a DG-16D2S. Its stock firmware was 74850c but i had be updated to 9xxxxx. I don't have the Dummy.bin on hand(but my friend does on his comp) so I used the .cfw that i got off the BenQ to get the DVD Key.
I put the BenQ firmware into the source area and put the LT3.0 02510 fw into the target and hit spoof to target to get it to copy over the DVD Key.
I then followed the standard writing procedure for the Lite-On drive and followed up with testing the drive. The Xbox saw the drive and started up just fine. I was about to turn it off and try to find a stock firmware to use till my buddy decided to be a jerk and hit the update button while I was away.

Once i found out what he did, i reflashed the drive with stock 02510 fw to see if it would read retail copys of games and no such luck. It says "Play DVD" in the dashboard and once you start the game it just sits at the Xbox 360 screen. So I flashed over LT3.0 and the same thing happened with retail and backup copies of games. And the backup copies have been ran thru abgx1.0.6 to get the correct data.

Im at a lose to as why this is happening. Any help would be great. btw, im in the process of getting the orginal dummy.bin and seeing if that has any better luck.

Basically you have a drive with no key. Hopefully you saved your key etc when you was prompted. If this is so you can load from them and reflash. As per before but ensuring to spoof first.

@Soryn - Open another thread next time..

I didn't dump this drive on the computer I currently have, so I dont have anything in JF database.

I have tried "poof to target" to get it to copy the key over to LT3.0 and I have copied the DVD Key from the source and hit manual spoof then pasted it into the area and hit check then hit okay.

I just tried putting LT3.0 with 0251 doing a manual spoof and it saw everything as a DVD. Here is the full log:

You may not have clicked Spoof Source to target, and are getting play dvd because of the wrong drive key?

I was unaware spoofing no longer worked..

you have to click spoof source to target
i hope you saved your dummy.bin
open your dummy.bin as source then choose the right firmware and click on spoof source to target.
the dvd keys have to match

and you need to buy a liteon drive
spoofing does not longer work

I know spoofing doesn't work, that's why I bought a Lite-On drive and trying to get it to work. I don't have the dummy.bin but the F/W from the BenQ has the DVD key. I've tried using the "spoof to target" and "manual spoof" button to copy the DVD key from the firmware I pulled from the BenQ to put it onto the Lite-On.

just a footnote excuse me but i am tired did you try and flash both pre and post stock firmware .
what i would do is read key info from spoofed . copy and paste in word so its on desktop. get new drive flash stock post 0251 guess you have latest dash . manual enter key. check ok in jf then write this will erase and write firmware send outro. then reopen jf to check key info an extra 5 mins by re reading drive and then lt flash 3.0 again manaul source write again and once done outro. the very last thing i do is open jf again and just re read to check by getting info from drive . outro again and done never had a problem . like the carpenter states measure twice cut once. 3 checks 10 mins and new drive done

---------- Post added at 15:34 ---------- Previous post was at 15:31 ----------

dont spoof source do it manually and copy and paste your key and click check then ok should be highlighted then hit that then write firmware

---------- Post added at 15:36 ---------- Previous post was at 15:34 ----------

also check you have latest firmware in jf 1.92 folder sounds daft i had 2 folders on desktop kept scracthing my head then realised i was using wrong folder lol

I would love to read the info off the drive but if i flash it with 0251, i can't read it because only thing I have is ck3 probe and a ck3 pro. Sense 0251 requires special care, i cant dump it and read the info. I could try flashing 7xxx over to the Lite-On and see how that goes. I believe i have already tried using 0251 stock and that didn't work.

This is kind of odd... I flashed the BenQ drive with the firmware that was on it before I updated to the latest dashboard. I put LT2.0 w/ spoof as Lite-On drive and tried to see if it would read a game. But it too saw it as a DVD.. Is this because of the Dashboard not playing nice with LT2.0 or bad flash?

Im thinking that its a bad flash because of it happening to both drives and even with the f/w that i pulled from the BenQ being put back onto it.
Might pick up the tool that allows me to connect my drive up via USB and try taking the drivers and chipset out of the equation.

before you go out and buy anything try sticking the benq drive back in. Does it read anything?

Are you sure its the right key? I was able to install a BenQ drive into an ms25 sammy xenon and have originals,xgd2 and xgd3 discs boot fine, although i had issues when i manual spoofed drive to ms25.

Try manual spoofing and only copying the key to target firmware, no [Spoofed as xxxxx] or anything like that.

I've done this for about 5 drives, Lite-Ons included.
