Hi all just wondering what am I doing wrong ??

When I intro I can get vendor mode sometimes having to gnd probe (bad flash recovery)

I erase and flash the drives and it always fails at different points bank 1,2and3

Sometimes it says x360usb disconnected

I thought it could be a dead drive but there starting to really stack up now I have 6 all the same if I have the tray half open it gets no difference what trick am I missing??

The probe method for samsungs and x360usb tend to fail quite often, I dont think the parallel flash likes it very much I'm afraid.

Not sure if the old resistor method is any better.

Again I can get em to intro , erase. And verify the erase it's when am writing it fails on different banks every time or is this a bad intro it gets into the banks before just stopping randomly

Like I said, the Parallel flash just doesn't seem to like *this* bad flash recovery method, it's like it doesn't release fully.

Samsungs are also flashed very differently (I cant say how, mum, it's not my code) - This also could have an adverse effect. The problem itself isnt the unlock but the drive is still in a 'confused' state, per se. This was Maximus' concept just branched over to probe3/JF - It was never natively designed, nor JF coded, to support it.

The old way was very similar in concept, but slightly different, maybe it deasserts fine - Never bothered to try. Would do no harm if you can solder - to try.

I can solder but unfamiliar with the method if you can advise or point in the correct direction

Easier to just use nforce/via and do a bad flash recovery that way, IMO.

Would be nice if the x360usb went badass and incorporated vcc trick though - Like my prototype does.

Sarah, if you send them to me and cover return postage - I'll bad flash recover them on my NForce PC.

In future, stick to the soft unlocks, not the probe one with x360usb.

That's the prob I only got a laptop and the ones I kill are always spoofed so I intro them and erase then flash new ms28 fw and it fails usually in middle of bank two

The ones that are stock I can unlock and flash no problems

Try the vcc method. Spoofed drives will still unlock with half open tray or activate.iso

I've got one of them, and 3 laptops without PCMCIA any more

One reason I kept my NForce, even though I don't actually use it. It's very compatible.

Them Netherlands
I've had similar problems and I couldn't get it to work in JF, only once but that was probably just luck (It worked after I tried a different SATA cable), other times I used some DOS based tools.

I also kept my nF4 system and VIA 6421 card for this reason, these days it's a dedicated Xbox 360 system.

FYI: From the User Guide...

With the X360USB Pro recovery works very simply 99% of the time (sometimes Samsung can be a pain – but usually it works in the end!)
So everyone knows it has issues.
