Almost dead or almost alive? Demon trinity

Hi guys I have a trinity and installed demon on it.

I was able to read/write nands fine and it turned on using demon nand ok to test, but as soon as I plugged my keyboard/mouse hub to it screen went blank and then it started getting red lights.

I resoldered everything(for a moment I thought the deamon got damaged so i replaced it with another neatly without lifting any pads). Still no joy. Check all small points with a meter to make sure any of them doesnt short circuit and they didn't.

Totally desperate I gave it last chance and connected my usb keyboard hub in and wired controller and without wifi board it booted in again!! So I turned it off, plugged wifi board in try again... red lights.

So it thought maybe its something to do with ground connection. I put it in metal chasis and it worked, twice in a row! But then went back to red lights again...

By the end of my fight with it I booted it multiple times at random setups(with usb keyboard, with or without wifi board etc.),using both internal and demon nand, but still wont work properly every time.

At all times I was able to read/write nand ok.

I had some problems with demon toolbox at the beginning and had to run it in compatibility mode, which it did not work completely and crashed so I used virtual box and installed win xp and all went ok.

Any chance my nand dump are wrong?(read nand multiple times always matched 100%)

Another idea is that it gives red lights because xclams are not screwed in to metal chasis?(cant find proper screws to test and fed up with it now).

Somehow my keyboard/mouse hub(to by exact its a vga splitter with 3 usb ports). damaged the xbox?

When its not working and gives red lights fans sound like it would be glitching 4 times.(but there is no coolrunner installed yet.) And when it does work there is not glitching sound.

Running out of ideas to try now. So please help!

Could be anything but it has nothing to do with ur hub thats for sure. Give us pictures of your work and all logs so we try to find out what the problem is.

I think the secondary error code will tell a lot. I also agree with Martin. You should send it to someone to look at.

I connected the wire from X7 point on the demon to the wrong point. ->> now I am able to power on/off using demon tool which did not work before.

Xbox turned on ok on demon nand then on internal 2nd time ok.

Then went back to red light or rather to that red led in the middle.

Also when I removed first demon I would still behave like that so I think my solder is ok but it got damaged by either soldering that wire to the wrong point

OR at the very beginning the xbox/pc switch possibly switched to pc when I moved it on my desk somehow.. unlucky but now not sure if I actually even had it on standby atm. I noticed, switched it back, got red lights and replaced demon with a new one.

When it does turn on. It works ok. Any idea what to check ?

it is definitely something around video port. When held works and turns on ok. When released goes to blank/black/freezes.

Is clamping port and reflowing with a heat gun a good idea?

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be working on consoles full stop.

Let's chuck some unregulated heat at a motherboard because I'm too cheap to get it fixed properly.

No, it's never a good idea. Heat guns are for stripping paint.
