I've chipped this for a friend with the Xecuter 2.6 and it was working fine for a few weeks and then i get the usual 3 reboots and then frag... now before you say anything i have search and i have began to check all the solders and i found that the solder on the alternate 5v point came off really easily... thing is now i'm having trouble getting it to solder back on, the damn solder just wont stick. I've tried cleaning it up and scrapping away what seems to be some kind of glue over the point and using flux and solder containing flux but it just wont stick!!
Am i doing something wrong or do i just really have to clean the point up good?

Oh and i would have searched for "alternate 5v" or something but 5v is too small to search for :)

TIA

I had a bit of trouble with this point myself last night, I had to have a few tries to get it to stick. I ended up soldering to the leg of the conponent rather than the solder pad

Why do people have such a hard time with this??

Just put the wire on the leg and hold the iron on it until the solder on the leg melts into the wire.

That's it.
