anthrox, is your xbox working after you fixed the trace at LAD2? I also screwed this point and what's worse I lost the trace. now the xbox won't work.

my concern is that there is a point for LAD2 on the upperside of the board that I have lost. please let me know if you had to connect to a point on the upper side of the board.

thanks,

jeff

Before you can use alternate points you must repair the broken traces, otherwise your Xbox won't even turn on. Repair your traces and verify the repair with continuity checks.

As for alternate LAD2 points, there are 3 that I know of all on the underside of the board. Simply follow the LAD2 trace and you will locate 3 other points that you can use for your LPC rebuild. However, none of these other points are exposed pads like the original LAD2 point, so you'll have to carefully remove the protective coating of the motherboard in order to expose the copper and make use of them. These points are more difficult to solder than the original point, and if you're not carefull you can ruin the trace at these points as well, so take your time when soldering them.

Mobius,

thanks but still my question is not answered.

At the original solder point is there a connection that goes through to the top of the board? i can fix the trace but i am afraid that at the original point the connectio to the top is screwed. what's worse I cannot probe it on top to see where it might connect.

thanks again

Hey Burgan,

The original LAD2 solder point does not connect through to the top of the board, if you fix the trace then you should be fine.
