Does anyone know how to boot with X3's backup bios, other than eject+power? My power switch's been dead, and I've been using the eject button to turn on my xbox. I flashed X3 with evox bios, and am getting FRAG (after x2 blue). Everything works when I pull out the X3 from LPC. v1.0.

By the way, how do you lock/unlock hdd when I can only boot to M$ bios?

You cannot lock/unlock your hard drive from your M$ Bios.. Only through a supported Dashboard / Bios / Etc.

You are probably going to have to have someone else flash it for you, or get a new power / eject board that works..

You cannot load the backup bios through your switches, or anything, if that is your question. Only by pushing the power / eject together.

I am sure a lot of people here would offer to flash it for you, if you wanted to send it to them. I would, for one.

Quick question - Have your changed any of your dip switch settings on your external switch?

Problem solved. I found a bank (off-on-off-off, if I remember correctly) that also had flashbios. Flashed latest X3, works just fine now.
FRAG isn't always a soldering problem!!!!

The newer CE chips have flashbios 3.0.3 on the second bank, which is what you loaded.. I had forgot about that.

If you had a 1.6 mobo, it wouldn't have worked, but thank goodness, huh? :)

Glad to hear that the problem is solved..

And no, FRAG doesn't always mean solder - But, if it FRAGs before you load a bios, it usually is.
