Hi All,

I had my Xbox flashed previously by someone, so I do not have the DVD Key. I stupidly accepted the dashboard update from XBL one evening last week and panicked as it was updating and cancelled it. Now my back-ups aren't playing and there is a status error when I try Xbox live now.

I have a Lite-on Drive 8 Series.

I am trying to fix this problem myself. I am awaiting delivery of a PCI VIA 6421 card, and the CK3 Lite and Probe.

I've tried to do some reading on the subject of re-flashing my drive and am I correct in saying I need to return to the OFW, update the dashboard again, and then re-flash using Jungleflasher to LT 1.91??

Should this solve my issues?? I'd appreciate any help or advice ye can give me! Thanks

That process is correct its the probe 3 you need mate. Also usb pro would have been much easier remember to remove via drivers when flashing the liteon

Did you order the Probe 3?

Your drive will now be flashed as FW 02510C

Yup I just double checked the probe, I ordered the probe 3. Does the USB pro do the same job as the via? Could you explain the drivers part and what I need to do? Confused about that bit

There is a complete website fir the USB pro where u can get all the programmes u need, or u could look in the guide and tut section under USB pro, sometimes searching is better.

Ok guys the stuff I ordered came, so I attempted to flash my drive after I updated to the most recent dash board.

I'm having serious trouble though. On the first attempt using JF, the VIA 6421, CK3 Lite and Probe I managed to save the 5 files to my desktop, and followed all the steps. During the "Write" my system stopped on the 'Writing Bank 0...' phase and would not go any further. I had to just quit the attempt. After that, the eject wouldnt work on the drive using the CK3 Lite. I've been searching all day for a solution and nothing seems to be working. During my first attempt I had forgotten to disable the VIA drivers so did this affect it?

I have tried to write the LT FW to the drive using JF and also I have tried by using Iprep and it hangs at the same point also. I have also tried each of the three SATA ports on the card but the same thing happens when connected to each.

I'd really appreciate any help at all, I'm tearing my hair out here and I've been trying to fix it for the last 8 hours.
