Hi all, and thanks for your patience,

I've got an 1.0 XBox, and an X3 chip (there seems to be 2 X3 chip versions, CE and SE, right? I've noticed that my chip is diferent from the one on the "chip hardware install" FAQ, as some things on the chip have been moved arround, or removed altogether...

Q1) If the bios file is 2Mb, as is the 2193, shouldnt I be setting my Banks for a 2Mb flash? As in having all the pins off? (I've successfully flashed my 1234 banks with 2193, but I dont understand the 2Mb issue).

Q2) Regarding game backups, what do I have to do to play one, or make one from my collection?

Q3) What is a USB drive? Is is a USB Drive Pen with an adaptor, that fits onto one of XBox's 4 controler entries? Or is it a save game memory (that fits onto the controler itself), being used to hold the data files?

Q4) When you guys mention FTP, what do you mean exactly? I have a router at home, should i just get a network cable, connect it to the back of the Xbox, and then to the router, and try to access it from another PC on the LAN? Is that FTP? Can I also, instead of puding that cable onto my router, plug it directly into my Laptop? A null Laptop-XBox connection? Would that work?

Q5) If I understood correctly, you can upgrade the HD on the XBox, from the 8GB I have, to a 40Gb or more. Where can I get a link to a tut on this?

Q6) I can install a new media player, with my own codecs, etc, right? I can even copy movies onto the XBox, right?

Hopefully this thread sounds informed and not too noobish ;)

Thanks for clearing some stuff up for me
Props to Team Xecuter for a gr8 product

This is X3 Bios Flashing support forum so I'm just going to answer your Q1 and others you have to find out for yourself by doing "search" on xbox-scene.com forums or here. First of all, there are two versions of X3. The old version is just plain X3 and the new version is X3 CE. The X3 CE model has components moved around but both function just the same. In terms of your question regarding bios size. X3 has a capacity to hold total of 2mb total of bios size + 256kb backup bios. X3 bios version 2913 in fact has a size of 1mb and thus utilize only half of the total capacity. Thus you can see that you can put in 2 different versions of 1mb X3 bios at the same time just in case one does not work for you and you would have something else to fall back on. Therefore, what you did was you flashed v2913 bios onto your 1234 banks but you still have banks 5678 remaining to be flashed with another version of X3 bios if you wish.
