From associatedcontent.com:

I was at GameStop the other day and listened to a customer's questions about Microsoft's banning of modded X-Box 360s. The worker tried to explain that this banning was for those people that hacked their X-Box 360. The customer was worried that if her child downloaded any kind of content through the X-Box 360 that this might constitute a reason for a banning for her son's system. She was confused, so she decided to purchase a PS3 instead. I was told by the manager at that GameStop that this was not an isolated incident. They had received over 50 calls that day about the banning.

What Microsoft appears to have forgotten by earmarking this time of year for the banning of modded X-Box 360s is that most of the systems that are purchased this time of year is by parents and grandparents. The game systems that are purchased this time of year are usually done by those that do not have a firm grasp on the industry. Simply put, the systems are usually purchased by people that are fairly clueless about video games.

2legit umm maybe you're unsure of the way this forum parses links but all the links in your sig are just messed up. Maybe considering that you are a moderator you should have proper link tags and proper image tags.

</img> is the close command for adding an image to a forum thread. The html code for a URL is something completely different and depending on what forum language this forum uses can be a few different things. But as you can see it correctly parsed your links even with the image codes. Cause sadly as a mod you look rather dumb not having correct html codes in your posts. I do not mean any offense by this but figured I would help you appear more professional.

It might seem like flaming but before correcting a supermoderator I'd check my facts if I were you...

2Legit was just citing his sources (Associated Press), not putting links in his signature... The tags and parsing appeared when he copied/pasted his source...

Anyhow here is my 2-c:

Of course they did it wrong... The "Banning" System itself is not consumer-friendly: nothing is specified to you, just "your banned".

I think it serves them right... THey want to make millions by having users rebuy systems, and they will lose money over it, because grandpa doesnt know what modding is. Up theirs!

That will teach them, as they should have learned with the PSP, THEY CANNOT STOP US! Its no use to try patching security holes and then putting new fonctions which bring security holes...

I for one am soooooo pleased with this development, and may I say thanks to the UK, because they had so much publicity about the ban wave on the radio that Grandma won't buy a x360...Thanx!

I don't understand why you guys are so happy that people may not buy a 360. Why? Because you are upset that you got banned for modifying your console so you could play free games. Stop being so selfish. All that happens when people don't buy the 360 is that developers find it a less desirable platform to publish their games for and then we lose out on those games.
